All Cars Should Be Banned
Was reading a report earlier. Road Safety Fact Sheet: Children Jan. 2008; WA Govt. Is interesting in a morbid way.
Were you, dear reader, aware that according to West Australian Government figures, about 17 children are killed every year, over a 10 year average via motor vehicles? That's just in West Australia by the way, not all of Australia. Most killed - slightly greater than 10 per year - as passengers in vehicles.
Unsure what the numbers for injuries not causing death are, but suspect they'd be worse. A lot worse.
So clearly we, as a nation, have not been thinking of the children to allow so many to be killed, so brutally and senselessly, each year.
Clearly we MUST fix this appalling carnage of children on our nations roads immediately.
The solution is obvious. We ban all cars, trucks, vans; any form of wheeled transport at all. Instead insist that all traffic is done on foot. It's the only way to ensure the harm caused to our children is removed.
Those who would disagree are obviously perverts of the worst sort who take pleasure in running down children. Running down the sweetly innocent children as they play in the middle of busy highways with their cricket-bat and cricket-ball. Unaware of the metal death hurtling towards them.
Bastards
So please. Think of the children and put your selfish car driving reasons behind you. What's a little convenience when compared to the lives of our children.
Won't somebody think of the children?
In case someone without a humour bone reads this. This is a work of satire protesting the censorship regime that our dictatorial government is attempting to impose on all of Australia.
Big Brother? bah. They had it easy in Nineteen Eighty Four. Only a portion of the country had the full censorship treatment.
I'd hope the hypocritical nature of the current debate isn't lost on the reader. On one hand our government and various persons want to protect children, on the other hand they have no intention of even remotely protecting our children to anything like the same degree when children are being *killed*. Nice isn't it? This debate isn't about protecting children. It's about imposing a level of censorship over the Australian Public that has parallels only with the most oppressive regimes the 20th and 21st centuries have seen.
