Old Photos Update

I've never been able to get half decent scans of all our old, and not so old, slides.
With a recent printer replacement, I went for one of the scanner/printer combo's. Pretty nice machine. But it can actually do half decent slide and negative scanning too. Well this isn't a review. It's a check out the updated pics story!

All are named "slides..." and down the bottom of their respective categories.

This is one of my favourites:

Landscapes. Fireworks.

Enjoy!

Third Deck Approaches Completion

(Re-posted to get back to where I was. Post the hosting provider change.)

*Finally*!

Managed to be sufficiently recovered from the spate of colds we've all had, to put the final push to getting the main deck finished.

Earlier this afternoon, I put the first coat of oil on. Would have put a second and third but (a) didn't realise how little decking oil I had when I started and (b) consequently had just enough to get the 1st coat done. Tomorrow nights task for two and three I suspect.

I'm currently: stiff, sore, *very* tired and smelling slightly of turpentine.

As I'd left the deck in a near finished state for several weeks, the decking had started to weather. So required a solid belt-sanding. Which is the main reason for the first three of the prior complaints.

Just a couple of pics to show off:

For those that care or are curious? The timber is that recommended by the landscape architect: "Swan River Red". Bought from Bunnings of all places. Natch of the 3+ Bunnings stores in Canberra, the only one that stocks the stuff is on the far side of the city. Personally, I reckon the timber is Jarrah, albeit by another name.
Sure is tough enough to be Jarrah. I pre-drilled the decking nail holes, but did try nailing through one of the off cuts out of curiosity. Ha. Penetrated maybe 5 mm before bent nail.

Enjoy!

Canberra Floriade 2006 Photos

Something less technical for a change: Just added a batch of 31 photos taken at this years Floriade in Canberra.

Taken early on a Saturday morning, perfect conditions.

Enjoy!

And Yet Another Photos Update

Whew. Busy Busy Busy.

We have: December 2005, Brisbane Trip 2006, Rock Star & Third Brithday Starts, and Third Brithday.

All Corbin photo's. We don't take photo's of much else anymore for some reason...

One of my personal favorites is this one of Corbin playing Tuxpaint on his SuSE 10 Linux PC. Corrupt 'em young is all I can say. Perhaps frustratingly, it was incredibly easy to get a Linux PC built that was 3 year old proof vs a Windows XP PC. Not least being all those education games that require full administrator access.

Sigh.

A long overdue update to the Photo Galleries

Plenty more to come. Oh yeah, you'd better believe it.

But to get started here are:

Snowing 2005  just to totally freak out all the rellies in FNQ.

August & September 2005

and November 2005

21st June 2005 - More Pics

And some more pics as promised.
First off, we have a single series of Corbin "assisting" with the construction work in the garden. Appropriately titled "Corbin the Builder"
Next up, a new Album of pics so you can see the latest views of the garden construction work. This is not to be taken as a sample of my skills for the availability of same for my father-in-law. Or open to criticism.

Enjoy!

Latest Pics. From May/June '05

Some new pics freshly printed and/or downloaded from the digital camera.
The first batch show the post haircut Corbin.
The second batch demonstrate Corbin's skills in assisting Dad with baking Amaretti biscuits. As well as Corbin's skill at sweeping dirt. And finally Corbin shows off his skill at using the spare mattress as an imitation trampoline.

Enjoy!

25th May 2005

Whew! The new software sure makes it a lot easier to add photos and other bits 'n pieces!
First off, we have a whole heap of photo's taken with Dunk and Cathy's camera from Corbin's Baptisim and First Birthday.
I've also added a selection taken from Dec 2004, and Jan 2005; from Feb. and early March 2005; and from late March 2005.

About 90 more photo's to add and I'll be mostly up to date! Yay!

20th Nov 2004

After recovering from our long weekend down the beach (Batemans Bay) for my birthday; I've put up a heap of new pics for your viewing pleasure! First from August 2004. 2nd an exciting moment for all three of us, the first steps Corbin took unaided. The third and fourth batches are from our weekend down the beach. This was Corbin's first exposure to Sun, Sand and Surf, and he loved it!
